Dubak Electrical Group is continuing to grow, and we are looking to add an Electrical Prefabrication Technician to our Manufacturing Plant in La Grange Park, Illinois.
This individual will work in the Prefab Shop, a controlled environment where employees build vital electrical components for field installations. Components include transformer skids with primary and secondary panels, overcurrent protection, feeders, MC cable and cord drops, light fixtures and lighting pendants, trapeze systems, HVAC racks, temporary power racks, and DuMod trailers (complete setup for switchgear distribution). Additional responsibilities include device preparation, underground duct bank preparation, material sorting, and other assembly tasks.
Electrical Prefabrication staff must be mechanically inclined, have working knowledge of hand tools used in the electrical trade, be punctual and hardworking, and meet deadlines while producing high-quality, precise workmanship.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Wire splicing and terminations
Power outlet box and stub-up assembly
Power, lighting, and equipment whips
Light fixture modification and preparation
Prefabrication of panelboards
Conduit bending
Pipe threading
General electrical distribution assemblies
Staging materials and equipment
Reading work packages
Conduit support assemblies
Fundamental Skills Needed:
Proficient with basic hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, screw guns), tape measures, and light-duty machinery
Mechanically inclined
Arrive on time daily and be prepared to work
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Follow all safety rules and procedures
Ability to prioritize duties while multitasking
Follow established production processes
Work and communicate effectively as a team member
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Availability to work overtime and weekends
Flexibility to work various schedules during tight schedules or upcoming project requests, including early mornings and late evenings
Maintain strong attendance with no habitual tardiness
