We’re currently seeking a highly motivated Electrical Inspector – Data Center Critical Infrastructure located in Malaga, WA.
Required Education:
High School Diploma
Required Certifications:
Journeyman or Master Electrician License
NFPA 70E Electrical Safety certification
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
Preferred Certifications:
NICET Level II or higher in Electrical Systems
ICC Electrical Inspector certification
Required Qualifications:
In order to become a candidate, you must possess the following skills and abilities.
Thorough understanding of NEC requirements for data centers
Familiarity with NFPA 75 (IT Equipment Protection) and NFPA 76 (Telecom Facilities)
Knowledge of Uptime Institute Tier classifications and redundancy requirements
Ability to read and interpret one-line diagrams, schematics, and construction drawings
Understanding of power distribution architectures (2N, N+1, distributed redundant)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with building commissioning (Cx) for critical facilities
Familiarity with DCIM tools and power monitoring systems
Infrared thermography certification (Level I or II)
Experience with international electrical codes (IEC) for global site support
Responsibilities:
Inspection & Compliance
Conduct electrical inspections of data center power distribution systems including switchgear, PDUs, RPPs, busways, and branch circuits
Verify compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 75, NFPA 76, and local electrical codes
Review and approve electrical installations against approved drawings and specifications
Inspect UPS systems, battery installations, and static transfer switches
Verify generator systems, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and paralleling switchgear
Validate proper grounding and bonding systems including TGB/MGB configurations
Testing & Verification
Witness and verify acceptance testing of electrical equipment
Review thermal imaging scans and identify potential issues
Verify arc flash labeling and PPE requirements are current and accurate
Validate load bank testing results and generator performance
Inspect and verify proper torque specifications on electrical connections
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare detailed inspection reports documenting findings, deficiencies, and corrective actions
Review and verify as-built documentation accuracy
Maintain inspection records and compliance documentation
Provide punch lists and track items to resolution
Coordinate with commissioning agents and third-party testing firms
Coordination & Communication
Interface with contractors, engineers, and facility operations teams
Attend project meetings and provide status updates on inspection activities
Escalate critical safety issues and code violations promptly
Support data center migration and maintenance activities as needed
Salary:
$55 - $65 per hour
Bonus Pay:
A bonus may be granted to employees depending on individual performance, employee utilization, attendance, tenure, and furtherance of other non-financial corporate goals; bonus opportunities are available at management’s discretion.
