Job Description
This is a hybrid position.
Description:
• Using CAD to develop designs for control panels in the power industry
• Makes and completes recommendations for complex new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet requirements.
• Completes complex material specifications, schematic preparation and follow-up to ensure proper and effective implementation.
• Performs complex design, development, testing, and modifications of solutions.
• Is able to clarify, interpret, and evaluate information on complex specifications, performance characteristics or other technical data.
• Identifies potential problems and provides effective solutions in reaction to application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes.
• Displays original thinking in applying principles, theories, and concepts on a wide range of problems.
• Conducts and participates in peer reviews to ensure product quality.
• Conducts training and technical support on hardware engineering concepts and DCS system components.
• Keeps management updated on progress and delays encountered during development.
• Ability to create system specifications and control system design standards to support engineering guidelines and processes.
• Comfortable with 15% travel requirement.
Requirements:
• 4 to 10 years of relevant experience with the design of control systems for new and retrofit installations.
• I/O list evaluation
• I&C field equipment evaluation
• Cabinet and panel layout and design
• Parts specification and selection
• Low voltage power distribution
• Drawing/documentation preparation
• Interface with project management and manufacturing
• Strong analytic and decision-making skills
• Strong quality orientation and customer focus
• Knowledge of/Experience with AutoCAD (Electrical is preferred but not required)
