Job Title: Electrical Design Technician (CAD)
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
Job Type: Direct Hire
Pay: Up to $35.00/hour (DOE)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Design Technician to support the development and maintenance of electrical drawings and documentation in a fast-paced environment. This role focuses on creating and updating schematics, bills of materials, and installation documentation while working closely with engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and revise electrical schematics, layouts, and supporting documentation
• Generate bills of materials and visual installation guides
• Complete drafting and design assignments with minimal supervision
• Create drawings based on engineering input, including written and verbal specifications
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to drafting standards
• Review and verify drawings for completeness and compliance with specifications
• Maintain version control and updates for all project drawings
• Provide technical support and solutions to internal teams as needed
• Participate in project meetings and discussions
• Prepare documentation packages for customer submittals
Qualifications:
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical preferred
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and design principles preferred
• Ability to create and interpret 2D electrical schematics
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and strong work ethic
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Requirements:
• Associate’s degree in Computer-Aided Drafting & Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Familiarity with electrical manufacturing processes and their impact on design
• Experience with 3D modeling tools such as AutoCAD or Inventor preferred
