For our R&D department within the Electrical Safety Solutions (ESS) Division, we are looking for a new colleague for the position of Electrical Design Engineer. In this role, you will contribute to technological innovation and ensure the high reliability of our products in the railway segment (typical products include Modboxes, pantographs, contactors, disconnectors, earthing switches, etc.). You will collaborate with a team of electrical designers in Switzerland, project managers, manufacturing engineering, and the assembly department in Prague–Běchovice.
Job profile:
• Design and development of high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical systems in accordance with IEC 62995 standards
• Collaboration with Project Managers on defining HV components and electrical functional schematics for projects
• Preparation of technical documentation for projects
• Implementation of technical data into ERP & PLM systems
• Updating and maintaining documentation based on feedback from production
• Close cooperation with assembly and mechanical design teams to define cable routing in compliance with IEC 62995 on prototype units
• Close cooperation with the assembly workshop to ensure quality in pre-series and serial production
• Close collaboration with cable production to ensure delivery quality and process improvements
• Participation in processing related NCRs
Requirements:
Education & experience:
• University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Electrical Engineering
• Previous experience in a similar position is an advantage
Skills & qualifications:
• Experience with designing electrical schematics
• Knowledge of software tools for creating electrical schematics
• Knowledge of IEC 62995 and EN 50343 standards is an advantage
• Independence and attention to detail
• Strong adaptability and versatility to meet varying project requirements
• Good communicative level of English, both written and spoken, is required
• Team player with creativity, flexibility, and personal initiative
