The Role
Reporting to the Controls Engineering Manager, the Electrical Design Engineer will focus on developing innovative electrical solutions for a multinational client base. The role requires delivery of projects on time and within budget while managing complex technical scopes.
You will work across a broad range of projects, contributing to the design and commissioning of state-of-the-art automated equipment used in the manufacture of life-saving medical devices.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Develop new electrical designs and concepts
• Evaluate and interpret customer specifications
• Select appropriate components and materials for electrical systems
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant safety standards and regulations, implementing risk mitigation measures where required
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers, software developers, project managers, and customers to deliver integrated solutions
• Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting to validate performance and functionality
• Perform electrical qualifications (EQs), machine power-up checks, quality checks, and provide project support
• Set up and commission machines following power-up
• Provide technical input to estimation, procurement, commercial, and bid teams
• Participate in project meetings and deliver regular progress updates to stakeholders
• Maintain awareness of industry trends and best practice
