We are seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to join our team on a large-scale data centre project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of all electrical systems, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Responsibilities include managing subcontractors, coordinating with other disciplines, and driving progress from procurement through to commissioning and handover.
Below is a list of typical duties but is not exclusive of all duties that are required to be carried out during the project.
Responsibilities
• Developing a detailed construction plan, including scheduling and resource allocation
• Coordinating the acquisition of equipment, ensuring they meet the project's specifications and quality standards.
• Managing the contractors by overseeing their work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and managing subcontractors when necessary.
• Implementing quality control measures to ensure that the installation of equipment items meets the required standards and specifications.
• Monitoring project costs and ensuring that the project stays within budget, including tracking equipment items.
• Overseeing project timelines and making sure that installation work is completed on time to avoid delays.
• Identifying and addressing potential risks and issues that could affect the construction project.
• Facilitating effective communication between the client, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure everyone is on the same page regarding project progress.
• Maintaining thorough records of project activities, materials, and any changes or modifications to the project plan.
• Ensuring that the construction project adheres to all relevant building codes, permits, and legal requirements.
Requirements:
• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering
• 8+ years experience in a similar role, within an M&E contractor is essential
• Previous management of large site teams essential
• Data Centre experience is advantageous
• Excellent organisational, communication and time management skills
• Proficiency in the use of MS programs is required
