Work location: Mississauga

 

• Support the design team in electrical equipment in high, medium and low voltage substations;
• Produce sketches and drawings, instructions, material lists and other related documents for the design of electrical/protection and control/civil/structural components utilized in electrical power generation, transmission, transformation and distribution systems;
• Fills out the product documentation and drawing sets;
• Manage and order plans from our clients;
• Support the design team in the managing of the various engineering projects;
• Consult with the engineers and production staff during the production phase;
• Produce and check drawings according to the drawing’s standards of the company, the customer and the applicable regulatory agencies.

 

• Certificate in electrical drafting or equivalent, with 2–5 years of experience (experience with public utilities is an asset);
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D) and familiarity with BIM tools (e.g., Revit) for integrated design workflows is an asset;
• Ability to produce accurate electrical arrangement drawings (plan, elevation and details), single-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams;
• Knowledge of electrical power generation, transmission, transformation, and distribution systems, including associated equipment and materials;
• Understanding of applicable drafting standards;
• Skilled in preparing and managing project documentation, material lists, and drawing sets according to company and client standards;
• Competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines;
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams;
• Adaptability, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to continuous learning;
• Keen observation skills, curiosity, and ingenuity in design.
