Hourly Rate: $21.00 – $25.00 DOE
Location: Oakhurst, CA (Onsite)
JOB SUMMARY
The Elders Coordinator supports the Elders Program by planning, organizing, and facilitating activities, services, and events that enrich the lives of Chukchansi Elders. This position is primarily responsible for program coordination, including group activities, outreach, and day-to-day engagement with Elders.
The Coordinator works in partnership with the Elders Administrative Assistant, who provides administrative and office support, while this role focuses on program delivery and direct service. This position may provide occasional backup support for transportation and delivery services as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Plan, coordinate, and facilitate weekly Elders program activities, including group gatherings, cultural activities, and special events.
Organize and support setup and breakdown for events, activities, and program functions.
Develop and implement engaging activities for Elders, including cultural, recreational, and social programming.
Conduct outreach and maintain consistent engagement with Elders to encourage participation in programs and services.
Assist with food distribution, meal coordination, and supply preparation for program activities.
Maintain inventory of program supplies, including activity materials and food-related items; coordinate purchasing and restocking as needed.
Create and maintain basic program records, logs, and participation tracking.
Provide general information and respond to questions from Elders and community members.
Observe and communicate any concerns related to Elder wellbeing to appropriate staff.
Maintain confidentiality of all Elders and program-related information.
Support general program operations and contribute to team efforts as needed.
Provide occasional backup support for Elders transportation and delivery services, including driving and assisting with loading and unloading, when coverage is required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED required.
At least one (1) year of experience in program support, customer service, or community-based work.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage respectfully with Elders.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist with event setup and supplies.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

TRIBAL PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In accordance with applicable Tribal law and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians (PRCI) Administration provides employment preference to enrolled PRCI Tribal Members. To qualify, applicants must submit valid proof of enrollment. Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions. During the interview process, PRCI Tribal Members will receive an additional 7.5 points (10% of the 75-point interview rubric). Non-PRCI Native American candidates will receive an additional 5 points (6.7% of the total points) in accordance with Indian Preference guidelines.
INDIAN PREFERENCE STATEMENT:
In compliance with 25 CFR Part 276 and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Sections 701(b) and 703(i), employment preference shall be given to qualified applicants who are enrolled members of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians, and secondarily, to another qualified American Indian/Alaska Native Candidate.
