Job Description
Supervise, identify, develop and implement EHS issues, strategies and activities to support management in the achievement of the site’s EHS business related objectives and targets. Serve as technical advisor for the organization and liaison with regulatory agencies, the local business community and the SBU. Provide guidance, advice and support to managers and staff on environment, occupational health and safety matters. Anticipate, identify and advise management on EHS business related issues including compliance with EHS legislation
Develops and executes EH&S strategies to support objectives.
Advise, support and provide technical guidance to management on all aspects of Environment, Health and Safety in relationship to site’s business, compliance with complex EHS legislation/regulation and the implementation and maintenance of the sites EHS Management System.
Lead Environmental, Health and Safety audits and inspections of premises and operations in conjunction with others to monitor performance and assist the relevant line management to produce action plans to implement the necessary improvements.
Serves as liaison between the organization and regulatory authorities including city, county, state, federal and corporate entities.
Ensures required regulatory permits and registrations are secured and updated.
Manages programs and reporting to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, FAA and other EH&S regulatory requirements.
Facilitates required EH&S reporting for regulatory stipulations.
Implements programs to improve environmental and health and/or safety performance.
Ensures employees participate in safety and environmental training.
Monitors, reports on, and presents department results and metrics.
Prepares and manages department budget considering best cost opportunities.
Develops relationships with community organizations to promote environmental responsibility.
Provides EHS subject matter expertise to assist in the design of products and processes related to the site.
Provides leadership for EH&S staff – sets goals, provides coaching and training, monitors performance and results, provides feedback and communication and manages schedules.
Oversees EH&S continuous improvement activities.
Serves on EH&S teams as required.
SKILLS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree
6 years related EH&S and project management experience with two years’ experience managing compliance
