This position provides operational, technical, and administrative assistance to ensure the seamless execution of electronic court proceedings across both physical and virtual environments.
With a strong focus on legal technology, the role involves preparing, configuring, and coordinating digitally equipped hearing rooms and remote venues; supporting legal teams with electronic evidence presentation; and managing digital hearing materials, exhibits, and workflows. You will assist in operating and troubleshooting audio‑visual systems, evidence display platforms, and virtual participation tools to ensure all parties can engage effectively.
Working closely with legal practitioners, clients, and internal technical teams, you will help maintain the integrity, efficiency, and reliability of the eHearings environment. This includes contributing to the setup and operation of advanced courtroom technologies, ensuring compliance with procedural requirements, and enabling a smooth, technology driven hearing experience for all participants.
The Ideal Candidate
This role is well suited to someone with experience in legal support, court services, or live hearing operations who is looking to step into a dynamic, client facing position at the intersection of law and technology. You will thrive in an environment where digital evidence management, courtroom technology, and real time problem-solving are central to delivering high-quality electronic hearings.
You will bring:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support legal practitioners, witnesses, and clients in a professional and composed manner
Excellent organisational capability, able to manage competing priorities and deliver reliably in fast paced, high-pressure hearing environments
Strong listening and analytical problem-solving skills, particularly when troubleshooting technical issues during live proceedings
A genuine interest in courtroom processes, legal procedure, and the role of technology in modern hearings
Familiarity with video conferencing, streaming, or evidence presentation platforms—experience with tools such as OBS, Vimeo, or Zoom is highly advantageous and will support your success in the role
Your Responsibilities Will Include
Preparing, configuring, and testing audio‑visual and digital hearing systems ahead of proceedings to ensure all technology is operational and compliant
Setting up and coordinating technology enabled hearing rooms and remote venues, including evidence presentation tools, display systems, and virtual participation platforms
Supporting the live operation and monitoring of electronic hearings, including streamed, hybrid, and fully virtual proceedings
Liaising with legal teams, witnesses, and clients to ensure smooth technical and procedural flow throughout each hearing
Managing electronic exhibit lists, digital bundles, and document databases, ensuring accuracy, version control, and accessibility
Creating and maintaining precise metadata for hearing materials, enabling efficient retrieval and secure handling of digital evidence
Handling confidential legal documents and electronic evidence with discretion, security awareness, and adherence to procedural requirements
Assisting with the setup and support of Real-time transcription and other integrated courtroom technologies, ensuring seamless connectivity and performance.
