Job Description

Created in 2009, ESSP is a young and dynamic company, a pan European service provider, certified by EASA (the European Union Aviation Safety Agency) to deliver safety-critical services. Our mission is to operate and provide Communication, Navigation and Surveillance (CNS) services, among which, the main one is, the EGNOS service (the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service), on behalf of the EUSPA (the European Agency for Space).

We are looking for an EGNOS Performance Expert who will ensure the detailed analysis, trending, and reporting of the EGNOS mission performances in order to assess the compliance with the mission requirements, to define new service areas, and to detect performance degradation,s identifying the cause of the problem, the mitigation actions, and solutions. For these activities, we are looking for someone with at least 5 years’ experience in satellite navigation (GNSS) and 2 years of experience in a field relevant to SBAS Performance.

Your main responsibilities/activities will be:
Ensure the compliance of EGNOS Mission performances at the user level with International Civil Aviation Organization Standards and Recommended Practices, MOPS (Minimum Operational Performance Standards), and EGNOS Mission Requirement Document requirements,
Analysis of EGNOS mission performance anomalies detected in the monitoring tasks, including a cross-check with external sources, giving priority to those related to safety issues,
Participation and support for anomaly review boards,
Identification of developments and evolutions of the existing tools to provide support to users,
Support for the review of the corresponding technical documentation developed,
Preparation and participation in workshops, conferences, and papers,
Support to the preparation of Service Provision Management Reports, Service Definition Documents, Service Notices, Service Performance Monitoring and Prediction Methodologies,
Provide expertise in the definition/detection of contingency situations,
Participation in different groups regarding the EGNOS framework, providing technical support,
Support for user-oriented activities which require technical analysis, including evaluation and analysis of problems reported by the user through the Helpdesk service,
Evaluation and support to the qualification of specific applications related to the use of the EGNOS system at the user level,
Execution of activities related to the definition and potential extension of the performance coverage,
Support for EGNOS system formal reviews,
Support on security matters impacting system performance and service provision.
Profile:
Experience in GNSS performance analysis and standards (MOPS and SARPS)
Capacity for problem-solving
Team spirit and cooperation
Very good knowledge of GNSS technology
Knowledge of SBAS standards (MOPS, SARPS)
Knowledge of data/environment/interfaces
Knowledge of GNSS evolution/non-GNSS technology
Analysis and synthesis
Desirable some knowledge of Space Weather concepts and impacts in GNSS Technology
Programming skills in Python and/or Linux/UNIX scripting (Bash) will be valued positively
Autonomy
Ability to work in a team environment
Good analysis and investigation skills
Good level of English (B1-B2) – CECRL

5 years of experience minimum in the Satellite Navigation (GNSS) sector AND 2 years of experience in a field relevant to SBAS performance.

Job Requirements:

Engineering degree or equivalent
Available for punctual travels mainly in Europe
