ORGANIZATION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief seeks an Education Specialist. This role supports adult refugees and immigrants through integrated education programming that promotes successful resettlement, community integration, and economic self-sufficiency. The Education Specialist delivers culturally responsive instruction across Cultural Orientation, job readiness, financial literacy, and digital literacy, serving clients across Resettlement & Integration and Employment programs.
The Education Specialist collaborates closely with the Education Administrative Associate to support effective class delivery and coordination, and works under the guidance of the Education Manager, who provides oversight and support for curriculum development and implementation. This position also partners with other departments to ensure education curriculum aligns with program guidelines, service goals, and funder requirements.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES::
Adult Education & Instruction
• Facilitate adult education classes for refugees and immigrants in both group and one-on-one formats, in person and virtually.
• Deliver instruction in:
• Cultural Orientation for newly arrived refugees
• Job readiness and workforce preparation
• Financial literacy
• Digital literacy
• Other instruction as needed
• Create inclusive and supportive learning environments that are culturally relevant and accessible to learners with varied English proficiency and literacy levels.
• Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the needs of multilevel classrooms
Curriculum & Program Collaboration
• Implement curriculum in alignment with program goals, grant requirements, and established guidelines.
• Collaborate with the Education Manager on curriculum development, refinement, and instructional best practices.
• Work across departments (Resettlement, Employment, and others) to ensure education content supports broader client service plans and outcomes.
• Coordinate with internal staff, volunteers, interpreters, and community partners to support effective education delivery.
• Collaborate with Intake and Program staff to verify education‑related intake, eligibility, and enrollment workflows, including clarifying roles and responsibilities related to documentation, case notes, and information sharing for client case files.
Assessment & Program Quality
• Administer standardized assessments and evaluation tools to assess learning outcomes and participant progress.
• Use participant feedback and assessment data to support continuous improvement of education programming.
• Support program evaluation, monitoring, and reporting efforts as needed.
Program Documentation & Communication
• Ensure accurate and timely education related documentation in collaboration with program staff.
• Partner with the Education Administrative Associate to support effective coordination of education services, including communication related to participation and completion.
• Maintain clear communication with staff, participants, and partners regarding education services and expectations.
Professional Engagement
• Participate in department meetings, all staff meetings, and required trainings.
• Participate in program planning meetings, feedback loops, and cross departmental conversations related to education services.
• Engage in ongoing professional development related to adult education, workforce development, and culturally responsive instruction.
• Support training or orientation of volunteers, interns, or staff involved in education delivery as appropriate.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS::

• Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred; or equivalent experience .
• Prior experience providing adult education.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online data systems.
• Fluency in written and spoken English; bilingual ability preferred
• Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends as program needs require.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to use a personal insured vehicle as needed.
• Authorization to legally work in the United States.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS::
• Experience facilitating adult education in multicultural and multilingual settings for refugee services, job readiness, cultural orientation, or health education.
• Strong instructional, group facilitation, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with administrative and program staff.
• Understanding of adult learning principles and trauma‑informed approaches.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Detail‑oriented with the ability to support accurate tracking of attendance and outcomes.
• Comfortable using digital platforms (Zoom, Teams, databases, learning tools).
• Ability to work independently while remaining highly collaborative.
• Commitment to World Relief values and client‑centered service.
