About the Role
This is a full-time, onsite role (8:00 am-5:00 pm) with occasional evening or weekend events as part of community and partner engagement.
The Economic Development Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to the Chamber’s Economic Development Department. This role supports a wide range of initiatives, projects, and events across Business Development, Existing Industry, Workforce Development, and Talent Attraction. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and energized by supporting a mission‑driven team.
This Economic Development Coordinator Will:
Maintain an organized office environment and manage departmental workflow, including calendars, supplies, purchase orders, invoices, check requests, and expense reports.
Coordinate meetings and events: invitations, agendas, materials, attendance tracking, payments, sponsor invoicing, space reservations, catering, and planning support.
Oversee compliant administration and recordkeeping for the Industrial Development Board, Industrial Development Authority, and Industrial Park Board.
Support internal departmental meetings, retreats, personnel reviews, and special projects.
Manage administrative functions in the Chamber’s CRM, including member lists, communications, financial tracking, invoicing, and event promotions.
Collect, organize, and format information for monthly and quarterly Board reports, Plan of Action updates, surveys, and budgets.
Assist with content development and updates for invitations, newsletters, marketing materials, and department websites.
Manage social media accounts and content to enhance the department’s online presence.
Assist in preparing Requests for Information/Proposals (RFVP).
Coordinate with other Chamber departments to ensure timely information flow and effective collaboration.
Support programs, initiatives, projects, and events across the Economic Development Department.
Participate in professional development opportunities and required safety training.
Adhere to scheduled work hours, attendance policies, and travel requirements.
Support additional organizational needs as assigned.
We’re Seeking a Candidate Who Has:
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of related experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and comfort with digital tools and CRM systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and work well under pressure.
Demonstrated professionalism, confidentiality, and sound judgment.
Ability to work independently with resourcefulness and initiative.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
