Position Overview

The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (Echocardiographer) performs high-quality cardiac ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Position Details

Employment Type: PRN (as needed)

Shift: Day Shift (1st shift; schedule varies)

Department: Imaging

Travel: None required

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Key Responsibilities

Perform echocardiograms using advanced ultrasound technology in accordance with established protocols

Collaborate with physicians and cardiologists to support accurate and timely diagnoses

Prepare preliminary reports and ensure images are available for interpretation

Educate patients on procedures and ensure proper positioning for optimal imaging

Maintain and monitor imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance

Accurately enter and manage patient data and test results within electronic systems

Perform additional diagnostic procedures, including bone density (DEXA) exams, as needed

Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography program

Certification:

Registered or registry-eligible with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) – preferred

Echocardiography certification – preferred

Current CPR certification – required
