About the Role
ECE Substitutes is a staffing agency exclusively for licensed early childhood programs. We support preschools, childcare centers, Head Start programs, and Pre-K classrooms by providing vetted substitute teachers when schools need coverage.
This is not a full-time position and not a guaranteed schedule.
This role is ideal for educators who want flexibility, variety, and control over their schedule.
Once approved, you’ll be able to pick up substitute shifts that fit your availability — no minimum hours and no long-term commitment.

Responsibilities
Provide classroom coverage in licensed early childhood programs
Support children ages birth–6 years
Follow center routines, schedules, and classroom expectations
Maintain a safe, positive learning environment
Communicate professionally with center staff
Follow all health, safety, and licensing guidelines
Requirements
Experience working with children in an early childhood setting
Resume required
Ability to pass required background checks
Reliable transportation
Professional, dependable, and flexible
Ability to follow center policies and procedures
(CDA or ECE coursework is a plus, but not required unless stated for specific placements.)
Important Expectations
This is a substitute/on-call role
Shifts are not guaranteed
Teachers choose shifts after approval
Background checks are required before accessing shifts
No-shows or repeated cancellations may result in removal from the pool
