We have an exciting part-time/category 1 job opportunity as Early Childhood Coordinator!
WHAT YOU'D DO: As Early Childhood Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing a well-organized, quality preschool and early childhood program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Lesson plan, coordinate, and implement well-organized, quality preschool and early childhood programs designed to promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
Work with the program supervisor to oversee the application of curriculum and developmental standards within preschool and early childhood program.
Follow-up with families to ensure proper paperwork is obtained at the start of the school year.
Observe and evaluate early childhood/preschool programs.
Ensure class activities align with the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards and/or the Illinois Early Learning Guidelines for Children Birth to Age Three.
Assist instructors as they evaluate children’s progress/performance using the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards, authentic assessments, and the Sunbeams & Rainbows Preschool Assessment Form.
Assist instructors in identifying concerns in the social, emotional, physical, or cognitive development of the children and communicate concerns with Program Supervisor – Early Childhood & Preschool.
Coordinates early childhood and preschool staff meetings on a monthly and as-needed basis.
Create monthly Sunbeams & Rainbows preschool calendars and monthly newsletters.
Coordinate parent volunteer opportunities within each preschool classroom.
Instruct/substitute in Early childhood and preschool classes as needed.
Complete a minimum of 15 hours of early childhood in-service training annually.
Assist the Program Supervisor - Early Childhood & Preschool in evaluating instructor performance.
Participate in the hiring process of new early childhood and preschool instructors.
Request, store, and inventory classroom equipment, materials, and supplies. Purchase necessary supplies as directed by Program Supervisor – Early Childhood & Preschool.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field, with 2-4 years of
relevant teaching experience.
Teaching certification preferred.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Good internal and external customer service skills.
Good planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
WHEN YOU'LL WORK:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am-2:00pm with some evenings and weekends as needed
WHAT YOU'LL GET:
The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is $22-26/hour depending on experience.
This position falls under Pay Grade B with a pay range of $16.00-$38.50.
