Job Summary:
The E-commerce Program Manager is responsible for leading enterprise-wide e-commerce initiatives and overseeing the E-commerce Operations Teams to drive profitable growth, operational excellence, and an exceptional customer experience. This role provides strategic direction, program oversight, and cross-functional leadership to ensure alignment between merchandising, digital operations, marketing, supply chain, and store operations.
The E-commerce Program Manager owns complex, multi-functional programs that impact digital sales performance, assortment strategy, promotional execution, and fulfillment optimization. This position ensures that e-commerce initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned to company objectives while driving measurable business outcomes.
Reporting Relationships:
Accountable and Reports to: AVP, E-commerce and Vice President, E-commerce
Direct Reports: E-commerce Operations Team
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and oversee enterprise-level e-commerce programs, ensuring alignment with company growth, profitability, and customer experience objectives.
• Provide leadership and direction to E-commerce Operations Teams, establishing priorities, performance expectations, and development plans.
• Develop and execute digital merchandising strategies to optimize assortment, pricing, promotions, and online product presentation.
• Drive online sales growth through data-driven decision making, performance tracking, and continuous optimization.
• Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, IT, Supply Chain, Store Operations, Finance, and Digital teams to deliver integrated e-commerce initiatives.
• Manage interdependencies across multiple projects and workstreams, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure program success, including sales growth, margin performance, inventory turns, customer satisfaction, and digital engagement metrics.
• Oversee promotional planning and execution for e-commerce channels to ensure consistency with enterprise merchandising strategies.
• Lead change management efforts associated with new tools, systems, processes, and fulfillment enhancements.
• Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to continuously improve e-commerce offerings.
• Develop and manage budgets related to e-commerce programs and merchandising initiatives.
• Present program updates, performance insights, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
7+ years of progressive experience in e-commerce, digital merchandising, retail operations, or related field.
3+ years of leadership experience managing teams and cross-functional initiatives.
Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, multi-functional programs with measurable business impact.
Experience in retail grocery or high-volume consumer retail environment preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be physically able to perform sedentary work: exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently.
Must be able to sit for extended periods, use a computer keyboard, and view a computer screen.
Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Ability to travel occasionally to stores, fulfillment centers, or corporate locations as needed.

Working Conditions:
Primarily office-based environment with standard office equipment.
Fast-paced retail environment requiring the ability to manage competing priorities.
Occasional travel to stores, fulfillment centers, or meetings.
Flexibility to work extended hours during peak business cycles or major program launches.
Financial Responsibility:
Accountable for e-commerce merchandising performance and program-related budgets.
Responsible for driving revenue growth, margin performance, and operational efficiency within the e-commerce channel.
Contributes to annual planning and forecasting processes for digital sales initiatives.
