Job Title: E-commerce Growth & Marketplace Specialist (eBay / Shopify)
Job Type: Part-Time | Independent Contractor
About the Role:
We are looking for a results-driven and proactive E-commerce Growth & Marketplace Specialist to support and scale online sales across platforms such as eBay and Shopify.
This role goes beyond basic product uploads and administrative tasks. You will be responsible for driving sales performance, improving listing visibility, and optimizing conversions across our online stores. This role is accountable for improving revenue, conversion rates, and overall marketplace performance — not just maintaining backend operations.
The ideal candidate understands how online marketplaces work, is data-driven, and is motivated by increasing sales and business growth. While experience with eBay and Shopify is preferred, candidates with strong e-commerce fundamentals and a performance-driven mindset are highly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Growth & Performance Optimization
Identify and execute opportunities to increase sales, conversion rates, and average order value (AOV).
Continuously optimize product listings (titles, descriptions, keywords, pricing) to improve visibility and conversions.
Analyze product and store performance to identify what’s working and what needs improvement.
Support and test promotional strategies such as discounts, bundles, and seasonal campaigns.
Stay updated on marketplace trends, buyer behavior, and competitor strategies to improve positioning.
Marketplace & Store Management (eBay & Shopify)
Own and continuously optimize product listings to improve performance, not just maintain them.
Ensure product information, images, pricing, and inventory are accurate and conversion-optimized.
Support product launches with a focus on strong initial performance and visibility.
Monitor account health, listing performance, and platform compliance.
Order & Customer Experience (Sales-Focused)
Oversee order flow and ensure smooth processing and fulfillment coordination.
Handle customer inquiries with a focus on supporting conversions, retention, and positive buying experience.
Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings while contributing to repeat purchases and trust-building.
Data Tracking & Reporting
Track key performance metrics such as sales, traffic, conversion rates, and top-performing products.
Provide actionable insights on performance and recommend improvements.
Use analytics and available tools to guide decisions that drive revenue growth.
Process Improvement & Initiative
Proactively suggest improvements to listings, workflows, and overall store performance.
Test new ideas to improve sales (pricing strategies, listing variations, bundles, etc.).
Take ownership of identifying gaps and implementing solutions that improve efficiency and results.
Qualifications & Ideal Traits:
Must-Have
Strong understanding of e-commerce fundamentals and online selling principles
Proven ability or mindset to drive sales, not just manage tasks
Comfortable working with data, performance metrics, and optimization
Excellent written English communication skills
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
Self-starter who can take ownership and move initiatives forward independently
Preferred (Not Required)
Experience with eBay, Shopify, or similar e-commerce platforms
Familiarity with listing optimization, keyword research, or marketplace SEO
Experience managing or supporting online store performance
Background in digital marketing, merchandising, or online sales
