E-commerce Bookkeeper

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented E-commerce Bookkeeper to manage and maintain accurate financial records across a fast-paced e-commerce environment. This role requires strong familiarity with e-commerce accounting workflows and tools such as Shopify, A2X, and QuickBooks Online.

The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of the complexities involved in e-commerce financial operations, including payment processor reconciliation, sales tax tracking, inventory-related accounting entries, and managing financial data across multiple platforms. This position will work closely with the finance team to ensure financial records are accurate, reconciled, and ready for reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping processes within QuickBooks Online.
• Manage and reconcile Shopify sales data through A2X integrations.
• Perform monthly bank, payment processor, and platform reconciliations.
• Reconcile transactions from Shopify, payment gateways, and other sales channels.
• Monitor and maintain the integrity of financial data flowing between e-commerce systems and accounting software.
• Assist with month-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and completing reconciliations.
• Track and categorize e-commerce revenue, refunds, chargebacks, and platform fees.
• Support financial reporting by maintaining clean, organized, and accurate financial records.
• Collaborate with finance and operations teams to identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues.
• Maintain documentation and uphold best practices for e-commerce accounting workflows.

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or E-commerce Accountant.
• Strong hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Experience working with Shopify accounting workflows.
• Familiarity with A2X for Shopify reconciliation and financial data syncing.
• Experience reconciling payment processors such as Stripe, PayPal, or Shopify Payments.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce financial flows, including refunds, fees, settlements, and payouts.
• Experience performing monthly reconciliations and maintaining accurate general ledgers.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

• Experience working with multi-channel e-commerce businesses.
• Familiarity with inventory-related accounting entries.
• Experience supporting financial reporting for e-commerce brands.
• Knowledge of additional financial integrations commonly used within e-commerce technology stacks.
