DZ Truck Driver

The Role

Our DZ dump truck drivers safely and efficiently deliver materials/products to our customers in the GTA and assist with the facility's day-to-day operations.

Typical Duties:

Deliver loose materials/aggregate and bagged items.

Periodically pick up materials.

Complete daily inspections of delivery vehicles and accurately maintain logbooks.

Safely operate equipment at all times.

Communicate effectively with other team members to complete daily and weekly goals.

Interact with customers, supervisors, and employees.

Ensure proper, safe, and timely loading/unloading of vehicles, considering weight restrictions and lifting devices.

Safely handle deliveries, supplier pickups, yard-to-yard transfers, and moving products within the yard.

Ensure deliveries are accompanied by proper paperwork.

Operate Boom/Crane when required.

Conduct pre- and post-delivery circle checks on vehicles.

Secure materials properly for transportation to prevent accidents.

Notify dispatch of any delivery issues or vehicle breakdowns.

Build and maintain relationships with contractors and customers.

Provide excellent customer service with a focus on being genuine, courteous, and honest.

Efficiently manage customer transaction time.

Contribute to company culture.

Perform other related administrative duties as assigned.

Keep workspace clean, including truck, tractor/cab, and truck bed.

Notify dispatch of any upcoming truck paperwork expirations.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

Valid DZ license is required.

A clean CVOR and Drivers Abstract is required.

At least 2 years of Dump Truck experience is required.

Boom/Crane Operator experience is an asset.

Enjoys working in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment.

Physically fit, required to carry up to 80 lbs.

Must be willing to work Saturdays and occasional holidays.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Exposure to industrial/construction hazards from time to time.
