Position Summary
The DRMIS Lead (Defence Resource Management Information System) is the functional owner of the AJISS/DRMIS process lifecycle within the Service Delivery Team at Thales Canada. This position provides subject matter expertise and leadership in the management of all activities within DRMIS, ensuring that Thales’s contributions to Canada’s system of record are accurate, timely, and compliant with contract requirements. The DRMIS Lead is pivotal in leading cross-departmental collaboration—engaging Engineering, Waterfront, Supply Support, Canada and additional stakeholders—to maintain the integrity of maintenance data and processes.
Central responsibilities of this role also include leading the DRMIS data repair and maintenance activities through effective team leadership and sub-contractor management. These responsibilities may include the development of training programs, coaching staff on systems and process changes, supporting onboarding for DRMIS-related access, and acting as the escalation point for system or process-based obstacles that impact service delivery.
Special Position Requirements
Schedule:
40 Hours per week during Core Business Hours Monday-Friday.
Physical Environment:
Office or onboard Naval ships in dry dock, alongside in harbor, or at sea, therefore must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards
Travel:
Domestic or international travel will be required, which will include access to government facilities and assets, including naval vessels
Customer Location Based or Site Visits:
Required to visit shipyards and Naval Dockyards during Work Periods.
Key Areas of Responsibility
The DRMIS Lead is accountable for the integrity, compliance, and continuous improvement of AJISS/DRMIS data management functions. The role directly leads the end-to-end process from technical notification acceptance through maintenance closeout within DRMIS, including strict validation of data priorities, technical information, and status reporting.
Key responsibilities include managing and directing cross-functional teams to maintain accurate data entry standards, developing and delivering training and coaching for system users, and serving as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting access issues (including PKI, DWAN, and DRMIS) and resolving customer-raised data concerns. The DRMIS Lead is also responsible for the creation and standardization of training materials, SOPs, and job aids to drive consistent execution and process understanding across the wider program.
The DRMIS Lead is responsible for:
Manual DRMIS Integration: Owns the process, and execution of manually transferring data between Thales systems and DnD’s Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS).
• Coordinate transactional alignments and data exchanges for the following maintenance data:
• Equipment Master Records and Maintenance Plans
• Master data elements for all maintenance records
• MSDC reports and Notification Defects
• Technical completion (TECO) and Objective Quality Evidence (OQE)
• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for DRMIS, supporting integration of maintenance management systems and leading the transition of new DRMIS tasks into the Thales in-house scope as business needs evolve.
• Continuously identify, propose, and implement workflow optimizations and process improvements to drive enhanced planning velocity, data quality, and overall process efficiency.
DRMIS Data Governance:
Captures and documents data standards related to data being manually transferred from Thales systems to DnD’s DRMIS
• Audit and analyze maintenance data to identify trends and implement corrective actions for data entry errors.
• Document, define and validate standards to, and with, which data quality is measured within DRMIS
• Lead the creation and distribution of both scheduled and ad hoc service delivery reports for Thales and customer stakeholders.
Work Package Management:
Manages the execution of the manual DRMIS integration process, including the management of matrixed team members and sub-contractors as required to support the DRMIS work package(s).
• Procure, and manage, sub-contractors responsible for repairing DRMIS data in alignment with Thales and GoC standards.
• Ensure all estimated labour-hours and revenue codes are accurately populated for proper work package scoping, in collaboration with the planning community.
• Streamline the onboarding process for DRMIS access, orienting and integrating new technical staff and planners into the AJISS/DRMIS environment.
• Other duties as assigned from time to time.

Basic Qualifications
The following minimum requirements must be met:
• Minimum two years of technical program diploma or University degree, or recognized provincial certification in marine, engineering, or relevant technical discipline (or equivalent RCN qualification).
• Knowledge and practical experience with ERP/EAM systems (SAP/DRMIS required; Maximo considered an asset).
• Demonstrated technical proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint).
• Practical experience in planning, scheduling, maintenance, logistics, or project coordination, with preference for work in the marine, shipbuilding, or defence environment.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proven communication skills, including the preparation and oral/written presentation of reports to varied audiences.
• Experience in process improvement, data analysis, and operational governance.
• Experience in the onboarding, functional orientation, and technical coaching of multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and drive accountability.
• Knowledge of Scheduling Tools (Microsoft Project or Primavera P6) is an asset.
Education:
• College Graduate with trade experience or;
• Post graduate qualifications or trainings in the disciplines of Business, Project Management, or Engineering
Language:
• Language: English (Essential), French (Desirable)
Preferred Qualifications
Skills and Abilities:
• 3 + Years of experience In DRMIS (Naval) is considered highly advantageous.
• Post-secondary diploma, degree, or trade certificate in a relevant technical field (Marine, Engineering, Business, or Project Management).
• Project Management experience or certification (eg. PMP)
Physical Demands
Predominantly office based, but will also be required to work onboard Naval Vessels, or remotely (including from home).
Must meet all federal government requirements to access Canadian government facilities, including naval dockyards.

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between Total Target Cash (TTC) 88,000 – 110,000 CAD Annual.
