What You’ll Get to Do
The Driver Class B / Plant Support is focused on transporting and unloading material to customers while interacting with customers to help resolve any issues that may arise and regularly supporting plant operations. This role reports to the Shop Supervisor.
This role is perfect for an individual who is detail oriented, safety centric, and has excellent customer service skills. A vital member of the Fleet Department, this is an opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.
Job Responsibilities Include
• Handle and transport metal products including loading, unloading, and securing various materials such as loose or crated metal.
• When driving, perform daily vehicle inspections, including pre-trip and post-trip checks to ensure safety and compliance.
• Make multiple deliveries while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism and also regularly supporting plant operations.
• Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies, including adherence to Critical Safety Rules.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance while safely performing all assigned tasks.
What We Are Looking For
• Warehouse / plant experience & a minimum of 2 years of recent commercial driving experience with a valid CDL Class B license issued by the state of residence.
• Driving Record & Compliance: Clean driving record for the past 3 years with no tickets, suspensions, or accidents; must meet all DOT requirements, including holding a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate.
• Availability & Paperwork: Must be able to work flexible start times and complete all required logbooks and paperwork accurately.
• Skills & Abilities: Ability to read and interpret measurements and delivery schedules; tape measure proficiency.
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong customer service and people skills are essential for success in this role; Communication with leadership is essential.
