Overview:
Patriot Broadband Construction LLC dba Patriot Broadband Technologies is seeking an experienced Drilling Crew Foreman to lead a horizontal directional drilling (HDD) crew installing underground fiber-optic infrastructure. The Drilling Crew Foreman oversees daily field operations, ensures safety and quality, and performs drilling, locating, potholing, and conduit installation as a lead along with crew members. This role is project based and as the Drill Crew Foreman, you will need to travel to where the job site is located; overnights will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a 2–5 person HDD crew on fiber mainline and service installations

Interpret construction plans, utility locates, and bore profiles

Oversee HDD rig operations, locating, vac excavation, and potholing

Ensure safe work practices, daily tailboards, PPE, and traffic control

Install conduit/duct, tracer wire, vaults/handholes, and pull strings

Communicate with supervisors, inspectors, and homeowners

Track materials, production, and basic as-built information

Qualifications:

3+ years HDD or underground utility construction experience (fiber preferred)

Strong understanding of locating, potholing, and safe digging practices

Experience with HDD rigs (Ditch Witch, Vermeer, etc.)

Ability to read construction prints and bore plans

Valid driver’s license; CDL Class A preferred

Ability to work outdoors and perform physical tasks
