The South Railroad Project is a feasibility-stage, open pit, heap leach project located on the prolific Carlin trend in Nevada. The Drill Services Technician is responsible for field support and warehouse support, including staking pads, monitoring drill rig safety and performance, sample pick-up, core cutting and sample submission. This individual must be able to work independently and safely in a field environment. This is a safety sensitive position.
Job Duties
Check drilling operations and status daily
Schedule core/RC sample pick up
Ensure pads and roads are built to permit specifications
Prepare core and reverse circulation (RC) sample dispatch, field pick-up, and retrieval from commercial laboratories.
Prepare a daily update on drill services and field-related activities for the Drill Services Supervisor.
Track and maintain QA/QC standard inventory.
Create core and RC submittals and cut sheets and insert QA/QC standards.
Ensuring proper sample handling, photographs, cutting, and unbiased sampling of core.
Maintain electronic files of samples and other activities and records. Keep a clean, safe, organized warehouse, including the storing of core, chips and pulps.
Maintain the core yard, including proper outside storage and inventory of core and rejects.
Conduct accurate XRF analysis on pulp samples.
Property download and save XRF data.
Prepare and conduct density sample testing.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
A minimum of three years of Drill Services field experience required.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Excellent safety record.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail.
Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to sit, stand, climb stairs, walk over uneven ground for long distances, climb stairs, and withstand extreme hot and cold temperatures.
Ability to use hand tools and controls on forklifts, pallet jacks, and core saws. Manual dexterity to operate computer and peripherals.
Ability to bend, twist, lift and carry up to 60 pounds.
Ability to drive extended distances over paved and dirt roads.
Ability to see and hear warning signs/signals, equipment and signs.
Minimum 21 years of age with a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
