Drainage Operative
Rochford
Permanent - Full time (47.5 hours)

To support the front-line drainage team in attending site-based call-outs and resolving drainage blockages. This is a physically demanding role involving manual clearance of blockages, use of specialist equipment, and working outdoors in all conditions also ensuring a safe, efficient, and high quality service delivery. 
More about the role:
• Assist in the clearance of drainage blockages using jetting equipment, rods, and mechanical tools. 
• Set up and operate equipment safely under supervision, including high pressure water jetting and CCTV survey tools. 
• Follow instructions from the Team Leader to complete tasks efficiently and to a high standard. 
• Help with loading/unloading equipment and preparing vehicles for daily operations. 
• Communicate professionally with customers and site contacts when required. 
• Complete basic job records and reports as directed. 
• Adhere to all health & safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.  
• Accurately record job details, findings, and actions taken using handheld devices or paperwork. 
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure all team members follow safe working practices. 
• Maintain equipment and vehicles to a high standard, reporting faults or issues promptly. 
• Work alongside clients to ensure that programmes are met such as the mis use programme via Anglian Water. 
• Experience in manual labour or outdoor work. 
• Willingness to work in physically demanding conditions and in all weather. 
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required. 
• Good team working skills and ability to follow instructions. 
• Basic understanding of health & safety practices. 
• Full UK driving licence (or willingness to work towards one if required)  
• Good communication, problem solving and customer service skills. 
• Experience in drainage, construction, or utilities work. 
• Familiarity with jetting equipment or CCTV drainage surveys.
