Position: Draftsman

Position Overview: 

Bring your skills as a draftsman to join a growing team of project managers in the exciting world of metal fabrication! The essential duties of this position will be to input drawings into a computer system for our sheet metal and industrial services shops. Your attention to detail and excellent time management will be key qualities to make you successful in this role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Create preliminary design sketches for conceptual analysis

Create engineering drawings and designs for production and manufacturing

Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists

Estimate material and production costs for designs

Prepare complete documentation packages for engineers

Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations

Develop technical reports for engineers

Input drawings into BIM (Building Information Modeling) programs

Skills & Requirements:

Ability to operate computer-aided design (CAD) software and manual drafting workstations. Experience in these programs is a plus:

SolidWorks

AutoCAD

Revit

Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time

Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy

Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from Project Managers and Engineers

Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe

Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports

Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions

Requires the ability to use a phone and tablet to input data, such as timecard information, emails, etc.

Bilingual (Spanish) a plus for this role

Working Environment: Work is performed in a climate-controlled office setting, with prolonged sitting throughout the day.

Salary: Starting at $22/hour, but it depends on experience and skill level
