In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Draftsman.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, revise, and update detailed construction drawings, including civil, structural, architectural, and mechanical layouts related to mining infrastructure.
Interpret engineering designs, sketches, and specifications to produce accurate CAD drawings.
Develop site layouts, foundation plans, steel detailing, earthworks drawings, drainage layouts, and building plans.
Incorporate design changes and field modifications into drawings as construction progresses.
Ensure drawings comply with project standards, mining regulations, health & safety requirements, and environmental guidelines.
Coordinate with Engineers, Surveyors, Project Managers, and Contractors to clarify design requirements and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain organized records of all drawings, revisions, and approvals.
Assist with quantity take-offs and basic material estimations when required.
Support construction teams by providing timely drawings and technical clarifications.
Conduct site visits as required to verify dimensions, conditions, and as-built information.
Prepare as-built drawings upon completion of construction works.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
Diploma or Certificate in Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Drafting, or a related field.
Experience working on construction-phase projects is an asset.
Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience as a Draftsman, preferably in mining, construction, or heavy industrial projects.
Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory); experience with Civil 3D, Revit, or similar software is an asset.
Strong understanding of construction drawings, symbols, and specifications.
Basic knowledge of civil, structural, and building construction methods.
Ability to read and interpret engineering and survey data.
Competence in Microsoft Office applications.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Adaptability to a fast-paced, site-based construction environment
Working Conditions
Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
