Job Description
In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Drafter
Key Responsibilities:
3D Design and Modeling:
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD 3D: isometrics and reports.
Design platforms: AVEVA E3D/PDMS.
• Layout and Routing Engineering:
Layout Studies: main equipment definition, piping routing, maintenance accessibility.
• Detailing and Specification Engineering:
Elaboration of Material Take-Offs (MTO)
Interpretation and Application of Standards.
Elaboration of Piping Isometric Drawings
Support Specification
• Management and Coordination:
Management of designer and drafter teams.
Coordination with other engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Civil, Instrumentation) and with suppliers.
P&ID and specifications analysis.
Construction, QAQC and commissioning follow up.
Technical standards knowledge: ASME, Safety standards mining sector.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
Diploma or an Associate Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
Proven experience across the full project lifecycle, from concept and FEED through detailed design, procurement, construction, and project delivery.
Advanced proficiency in industry-standard drafting and modeling tools such as: AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D/PDMS. (or equivalent)
Strong knowledge of piping materials, specifications, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ISO, mining-specific requirements).
5 - 10 years of experience in piping drafting and design for large-scale industrial projects, with a strong focus on gold mining or mineral processing facilities.
Expert-level piping layout and detailing skills
Strong understanding of mining process systems and plant operations
High attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Excellent coordination skills and ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary project teams.
Working Conditions
Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
