MacKay Contracting Ltd. is a progressive, well-established Heavy Civil Construction and Mining Services company operating throughout Western Canada. For more than 40 years, we’ve been delivering complex civil and mining projects safely and efficiently — and we’re just getting started.
We are currently seeking an experienced Dozer Operator to support our growing operations. This role is essential to maintaining productivity, site safety, and quality workmanship across our projects.
What You’ll Be Doing
Operate dozers safely and efficiently to support earthworks, grading, backfilling, and site preparation activities
Work collaboratively with other operators, supervisors, and ground crews to ensure project objectives are met
Maintain a high level of situational awareness in active, fast-paced construction environments
Interpret verbal and non-verbal communication, including hand signals, from operators, spotters, and ground personnel
Conduct daily equipment inspections, complete logbooks, and perform minor maintenance, lubrication, and housekeeping within your skillset
Complete daily track cleaning at the end of each shift
Identify existing and potential hazards by completing field-level hazard assessments (FLHAs) and participating in pre-job hazard analysis
Operate equipment with constant awareness of surroundings, personnel, and underground/overhead hazards
Ensure daily completion and submission of FLHAs and timecards
Follow all MacKay safety policies, procedures, and best practices
Be willing to work flexible hours and shifts based on project needs
Perform additional duties as assigned
What You Bring
Experience operating a Dozer in civil construction or equivalent environments
Knowledge of construction layout, grades, and site preparation
Experience working around underground utilities is considered an asset
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills and the ability to take and follow instructions safely
Valid government-issued photo identification
A valid, clean Driver’s Abstract

This role is based out of Sparwood, B.C., working a 7 x 7 shift rotation. Shifts typically run 12 hours, with overtime after 8 hours.
