Job purpose
To assist participants ages 12 -21 in developing academic, workforce, social-emotional and behavioral skills; assist in shaping each participant’s behavior through positive reinforcement, redirection, and other intervention strategies according to established techniques and procedures.
Duties and responsibilities
Builds authentic relationships with all participants using trauma-informed best practices.
Plans and facilitates daily program activities, including whole groups and trips. All planning is required no later than each Friday for all program days the following week.
Complete accurately and consistently required progress monitoring communication and documentation for participants.
Models, initiates with equity, develops and maintains a climate of mutual respect between and among the participants and staff.
Checks for participant socio-emotional awareness and growth; academic and workforce knowledge and skills and addresses gaps effectively and consistently
Willing to support all program aspects including but limited to driving, serving as a point of contact for a program component e.g., Certify-ED, contribute to team facility tasks, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience and degree in related field preferred
Adept at building trusting relationships with adolescents grounded in trauma-informed practices
Excellent communication skills with participants, families, and team
Capacity to plan and deliver high-quality 1:1, small and whole group discussions and activities
Knowledge and skills in assessment and progress monitoring
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Respectful, flexible, able to multitask, and supportive of team members
Proficient in MS Office and overall digital literacy
Valid Driver’s License and automobile insurance
Mandated Clearances (PA Criminal, Child Abuse, & FBI Fingerprinting).
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, or sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
