Job Description

Position Summary:
The Safety and Compliance Associate will focus on road safety, DOT, and state regulatory compliance. The role involves creating and implementing safety protocols seamlessly integrated into daily driver operations, performing audits, conducting accident investigations, and providing driver training. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in motor vehicle compliance and have demonstrated success in improving safety and compliance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure full compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and state-specific regulations.

Develop and implement safety protocols and policies for daily driver operations.

Conduct regular compliance audits and inspections of vehicles and drivers.

Investigate accidents, identify root causes, and recommend preventive measures.

Provide ongoing training and resources to drivers on safety and compliance topics.

Monitor Samsara and other systems to identify and address compliance gaps.

Collaborate with the Director of Transportation to ensure alignment with operational goals.

Prepare for and manage DOT audits, ensuring 100% compliance.

Track and report key safety metrics, including accident reduction rates and audit success.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3+ years of experience in DOT compliance and transportation safety.

Preferred educational background: Bachelor’s degree in Transportation Management or a related field.

Relevant certifications (NATMI, OSHA, CDL) are a plus.

Proficiency with compliance systems, including Samsara and FMCSA portals.

Strong knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to travel 50% of the time as required.

Work Environment:
This position is based in Newnan, GA, with travel to various company operations and audits as necessary.
