Document Process Specialist I

Horace Mann is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Document Process Specialist I to support our document management operations. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing, reviewing, and managing business documents within our systems to ensure timely and efficient delivery to downstream processes.

Key Responsibilities

Document Processing & Management

• Process and manage incoming business documents, ensuring they are accurately transitioned into the Document Management System within required timeframes.

• Maintain the integrity and accuracy of documents stored across multiple repositories.

• Perform corrections and updates to documents as requested by business units.

Quality Control & Research

• Process exception and research cases (QC work queue) to resolve discrepancies and ensure document accuracy.

• Apply strong decision-making skills to identify document types, prioritize workflows, and ensure timely processing.

• Support quality standards by maintaining accuracy in document recognition and classification.

Workflow & Productivity

• Manage multiple workstreams and priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

• Respond to business partner inquiries related to document processing and scanned materials.

• Ensure all work meets established service levels, accuracy standards, and deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

• H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent required.

• Associate’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience in document management systems and processes.

• Experience working with document management systems, scanning, or indexing processes preferred.

• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy, especially when handling critical business documents and payments.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Proficiency with computers and data entry systems.

Pay Range:

• $18.80 - $25.43/hr.

Salary is commensurate to experience, location, etc.
