PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canada’s largest airport for the future of air travel—including critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.
Job Summary
The Document Control Manager is responsible for establishing, managing, and overseeing the document control function across the Accelerator Program. This role ensures that all project documentation is accurately controlled, stored, distributed, and maintained in accordance with contractual requirements, GTAA standards, and PACT governance processes. The position provides leadership to the document control team and supports effective information management across all Sub-Programs.
Key Responsibilities
Establish, implement, and maintain the Document Control strategy, procedures, and workflows for the Accelerator Program.
Lead and manage the document control team, including workload planning, performance oversight, and training.
Oversee the setup, administration, and ongoing management of the Common Data Environment (CDE) and document management systems.
Ensure compliance with contractual document control requirements, GTAA standards, and project governance protocols.
Manage document numbering, naming conventions, version control, transmittals, and approval workflows.
Coordinate document submissions, reviews, approvals, and distributions with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and GTAA stakeholders.
Maintain accurate registers, logs, and reporting related to document status, submissions, and approvals.
Support audits, reviews, and handover processes by ensuring document completeness, traceability, and data integrity.
Interface with Design, Construction, Quality, Commercial, and PMO teams to ensure document control processes support project delivery.
Identify risks related to document control and implement mitigation strategies.
Support project closeout and turnover activities, ensuring all required documentation is complete and approved.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma or degree in Information Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
8+ years of experience in document control on large, complex construction or infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience managing document control teams on multi-disciplinary programs.
Strong experience with Common Data Environments (e.g., Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud, ProjectWise, SharePoint).
Solid understanding of document control processes within design-build or progressive design-build environments.
Experience working on airport, transit, or similarly regulated infrastructure projects is an asset.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and document accuracy.
Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage high document volumes across multiple workstreams and deadlines.
Working Conditions
The position will be based at Toronto Pearson International Airport, with full-time onsite presence required. This position is 5 days per week with core hours of work between approximately 8:00am–5:00pm with 1 hour lunch or as agreed upon with your manager. All employees must complete a RAIC and Criminal background check.
