Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive mental health care for inpatient adult/geriatric psych facility and outpatient clinical settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and preventing mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders through individualized care plans.
Responsibilities:
Inpatient Settings:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and psychotherapy.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including medical doctors, nurse practitioners, social workers, and nursing staff.
- Provide crisis intervention and stabilization for acute psychiatric cases.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
Outpatient Settings:
- Perform initial patient assessments and follow-up consultations.
- Prescribe and manage medications, monitoring for side effects and efficacy.
- Provide individual, group, and family therapy.
- Coordinate care with primary care physicians and other specialists.
- Educate patients and families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
Clinical Settings:
- Conduct clinical research and stay updated on the latest psychiatric treatments and practices.
- Supervise and train medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records, adhering to privacy and confidentiality standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits.
- Engage in continuous professional development and education.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Valid medical license to practice in Mississippi.
- Experience in inpatient, outpatient, and clinical settings preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.

- Work primarily in outpatient clinic, and DPU of Beacham Memorial Hospital.
- Full-time and part-time positions available, with some on-call responsibilities.
