Job Title : Distribution & Tender Lead - Egypt

Introduction to role

This role leads distribution and tender activities to keep AstraZeneca Egypt medicines consistently available for patients while securing new business opportunities. It manages strategic relationships with distributors, chain pharmacies, potential independent pharmacies and key customers, ensuring service, quality and cost targets are met in line with GDP standards. The position owns the implementation of the Distribution Management Framework (DMF) and the Quality Management System (QMS) for relevant GxP disciplines, driving continuous improvement across processes and partnerships. It also oversees the full tender lifecycle, coordinating cross‑functional teams to submit competitive, compliant bids and developing a high‑performing distribution and tender team that can resolve complex issues and support sustainable growth.

Accountabilities

• Lead the end‑to‑end distribution and tender strategy, aligning plans with business objectives and market dynamics.
• Connect commercial demand plans with operations supply plans to secure product availability across all channels, governing distributor stock coverage and optimizing inventory.
• Identify and implement cost‑effective, scalable distribution and tendering solutions that support access and profitability.
• Manage the full tender lifecycle and documentation, coordinating internal and external stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate, and competitive proposals.
• Define clear objectives for distribution and tender performance, track results, and adjust plans based on data and insights.
• Lead negotiations with logistics partners, distributors, direct‑supply customers, and key pharmacies, building trusted partnerships and resolving issues quickly.
• Explore new market opportunities, activate distributor capabilities, and recommend process improvements that fuel growth.
• Identify and manage risks across distributors, key customers, and sales practices, implementing effective controls.
• Ensure full adherence to GDP, internal policies, SOPs, and the DMF; monitor performance, communicate CAPAs, and partner closely with Quality and Regulatory.
• Coordinate with Finance, Market Access, Regulatory, Quality, and Commercial to maintain accurate forecasts, manage shortages promptly, and streamline proposal and tender frameworks.
• Coach, develop and support the distribution and tender team to deliver high performance, acting as an escalation point for complex operational or tender‑related issues.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Bachelor's degree in business administration or medical background
• Experience in distribution and tender management within multinational pharmaceutical companies is a must
• Strong understanding of sales processes, risk management, and regulatory compliance
• Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills across senior leaders
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, tasks, and work to meet deadlines
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a strong ability to interpret and drive insights from complex data sets
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Bilingual fluency in Arabic& English

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience in sales operations, governance, compliance, or a related role in pharmaceutical sector
• Understanding of legal and financial implications of tender documents
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, including Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and comparable platforms
• Excellent adoption to usage of AI
