Distribution Area Sales Executive
£35,000–£40,000 + OTE
Area: Based around Greater London, South-East or South and South-West of England.
We’re looking for a motivated Distribution Area Sales Executive to join our growing team, reporting into the Head of Distribution and Electrical Wholesale.
This is a field‑based role focused on growing sales and building strong relationships across electrical and building services distributors, including all TLC branches and other approved distribution partners within your territory.

The Role
You’ll be responsible for developing sales performance across your territory by strengthening distributor relationships, increasing product visibility, and driving growth through branch‑level engagement. You’ll work closely with both distributor partners and internal teams to deliver results.
Responsibilities & Duties
Managing and growing sales across TLC branches and other authorised distributors
Building strong relationships with branch managers, trade counter teams, and regional distributor contacts
Visiting sites regularly to ensure strong product presence, availability, and brand visibility
Identifying new sales opportunities within existing accounts and through new distributor relationships
Supporting distributors with product training, promotions, and sales initiatives
Keeping accurate records of visits, opportunities, and pipeline activity using the CRM system
Monitoring competitor activity and market trends, feeding insights back to the sales leadership team
Working collaboratively with Marketing, Pre‑Sales, Post‑Sales, Warehouse, and Customer Service teams
Managing your territory independently with a structured call cycle
What We’re Looking For
Someone based around Greater London, South East Region or South and South West Region but willingness to travel as and where required for the role which could include, the east and east midlands and other areas of the UK.
At least 2 years’ experience within the building services or electrical distribution sector
Proven experience in a field‑based sales, area sales, or account management role
Confident relationship builder with strong face‑to‑face and phone communication skills
Self‑motivated, organised, and comfortable managing your own territory
Customer‑focused with a commercially driven, solutions‑led mindset
Comfortable using CRM systems to log activity and manage pipelines
Willing to travel regularly within your assigned territory
Full UK driving licence - Valid Business Car insurance must be in place to undertake this role.
Ventilation experience is not required — we’re looking for someone with strong distribution or merchant experience.
Qualifications & Professional Memberships (Desirable)
Qualifications in Sales, Business, or Customer Service
Membership of a professional body such as ISP, CIM, or CMI
Equivalent experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications
What’s On Offer
Salary of £35,000–£40,000 (dependent on experience)
OTE bonus scheme – will be confirmed at point of offer
