We are looking for a Distributed Database Engineer to join our team and support the development and maintenance of modern database environments. The role focuses on working with distributed data systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability across production environments. You will collaborate closely with infrastructure and DevOps teams to support database deployments, optimise database performance, and contribute to automation and infrastructure processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of distributed database systems
• Manage and optimise MongoDB environments in production
• Monitor database performance, reliability, and scalability
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and implement improvements
• Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to support containerised environments
• Contribute to infrastructure automation and configuration management
• Support database upgrades, migrations, and optimisation initiatives

Requirements:
• Hands-on experience with MongoDB in production environments

• Experience working with distributed database architectures
• Experience working in Linux environments
• Experience with Kubernetes-based infrastructure
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Understanding of DevOps and cloud-native infrastructure concepts
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in collaborative engineering environments
• Fluency in English

Nice to have:

• Experience working with CockroachDB or similar distributed SQL databases
