Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate and monitor daily transportation operations to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective movement of freight. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and escalate issues in a fast-paced environment. The Dispatcher acts as a key point of contact between carriers, drivers, internal teams, and customers.

Responsibilities and Duties

Dispatch and coordinate daily shipments across assigned routes and carriers

Assign loads and issue load tenders to approved carriers or drivers

Monitor shipments from dispatch to final delivery, ensuring on-time performance

Track delays, disruptions, or risks and take corrective action promptly

Escalate unresolved issues to management according to established procedures

Communicate proactively with carriers, drivers, terminals, and internal teams

Provide real-time updates on shipment status, delays, and changes

Liaise with CSR, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure alignment

Maintain professional and effective communication at all times

Prepare, review, and verify shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, manifests, and commercial invoices

Ensure accuracy of dispatch records and shipment data in TMS and ERP systems

Complete data entry, tracking updates, and daily dispatch reports

Maintain organized and accurate operational records

Troubleshoot operational issues related to pickups, deliveries, loading, and transit

Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety standards, and transportation regulations

Support after-hours, weekend, and time-sensitive operations as required

Skills and Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in logistics or transportation, ideally within a 3PL.

Familiarity with load planning, carrier sourcing, or transportation management systems (TMS).

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish is an asset

Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general logistics software.

Knowledge of Truckmate is an asset
