Job Summary
The Dispatch Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient scheduling and deployment of personnel and equipment - including sweepers, dump trucks, water trucks, and related assets - to support customer needs and operational goals. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to manage daily workloads, optimize routes, ensure compliance, and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment. The Dispatch Manager supervises dispatch staff and drivers while serving as a key point of coordination between customers, operations, sales, and management.
Key Responsibilities
Schedule and dispatch drivers and equipment (20–40 drivers)
Supervise dispatch staff and daily workloads
Optimize routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Monitor GPS, driver hours, and DOT compliance
Prepare and verify time calculations for payroll and billing
Review completed work against quoted pricing
Handle incoming calls, customer communication, and issue resolution
Respond to emergencies, breakdowns, and service disruptions
Assist with hiring, coaching, and employee discipline

Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of dispatch experience (supervisory experience preferred)
Experience with dispatch software and GPS tracking
Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel)
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call as needed
