Role Overview

The Taiwan team is super excited to bring the selection, price, and convenience of Coupang to customers in Taiwan. As we rapidly scale this highly visible new market, we are looking for smart and driven leaders who want to solve tough problems and make a meaningful impact to the lives of customers and vendors in Taiwan. The Instock team is a critical team in Coupang, by managing inventory to build and maintain new selection while controlling costs such as overstock. The team works closely with cross-functional teams including business/vendor managers, supply chain, product, program and finance to deliver a world class e-commerce shopping experience.

What You Will Do

• Work backwards from the needs of the customers and vendors to deliver the right inventory, at the right time, and at the right place.

• Define the strategy and goals for the team.

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure that customer in-stock and vendor needs are surpassed.

• Drive business growth by ensuring that customer desired items are always in-stock and sufficiently stocked up.

• Partner with Coupang Korea and global vendors at the right cadence to optimize metrics such as lead-time, and fill-rate.

• Utilize data to effectively prioritize the most impactful actions to deliver key business results.

• Effectively dive deep to identify the root cause of issues, develop solutions and implement the solve.

• Manage ordering process and systems to effectively balance competing business priorities.

• Guide the development of processes and controls to monitor behavior of Forecasting, Inbound, and Inventory Management systems and continuously improve existing capabilities.

• Lead and develop a team of inventory management planners.

Basic Qualifications

• Preferred background in business management, engineering, SCM

• Business experience in SCM management, inventory management, sales, finance, procurement or operation 

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA/MS and work experience in dedicated project management highly desired

• Practical application of program management methodology including PMP/Lean Six Sigma/Kaizen

• Advanced knowledge of analytical tools such as SQL, Tableau, MS Excel, or Microsoft Access

• Demonstrated ability working in an ambiguous environment

• Experience handling changing priorities and using good judgment when working in stressful situations

• Demonstrable problem-solving, mathmatic, and analytical skills using data to drive decisions in a business environment

• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in effective communication of goals and strategies across multiple leadership levels of an organization

• Proven ability to influence internal/external stakeholders without authority to adopt new processes/initiatives

• Executive level written and oral communication skills

• High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities simultaneously

• Demonstrated success in thinking strategically and executing methodically

• Analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases

• Demonstrated experience communicating data insights to others, including use of data visualization tools
