Job Description
In this role, you help NXP to stay ahead of trade and geopolitical developments that can affect how and where we do business. You translate complex trade regulations (export controls, sanctions, customs and trade restrictions) into clear, early insights so leaders can make informed decisions—before issues become surprises.
You act as an advisor at the front end of strategy discussions, making sure market access and compliance considerations are built in from the start.
Your Responsibilities
• Track and interpret trade compliance and geopolitical developments and explain what they mean for our business and strategy.
• Turn complex regulations into clear, executive-ready briefings, decision notes, and practical recommendations.
• Provide early input to strategic initiatives so trade compliance considerations are understood before key decisions are made.
• Advise on “market access by design” topics, such as: Where data and systems are hosted, Cross-border access models, Sensitive engineering and R&D activities (including tape-out workflows)
• Help leadership understand the implications of entering highly regulated or sensitive markets, by translating constraints into workable options, guardrails, and clear escalation points.
• Support scenario planning and resilience thinking for major regulatory or geopolitical changes.
• Work closely with Trade Compliance experts, Legal, Strategy, and business teams to ensure aligned advice and consistent follow‑through.
• Translate strategic insights into practical priorities, guidance, and playbooks for the organization.
Your Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in trade compliance, export controls, sanctions, customs, regulatory strategy, or geopolitical risk.
• Strong ability to simplify complex topics and communicate them clearly to senior leaders.
• Proven experience working with senior stakeholders across functions.
• Experience advising in a semiconductor design or manufacturing environment (e.g. R&D collaboration, tape-out processes, data access and hosting, global supply chains).
• Semiconductor industry experience is a strong plus.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
