Director/Principal Engineer: RTL Development

About the Role:

Seeking a highly experienced RTL Design Director/Principal Engineer to lead end-to-end RTL development for our next-generation AI SoC. The ideal candidate would have deep expertise in complex SoC RTL design, leadership experience in driving RTL teams, and a strong background in high-performance compute architectures, memory systems, interconnects, High Speed SoC interfaces, NOCs, and AI/ML compute datapaths.

Responsibilities
1. Lead architecture-to-RTL execution for large, sub 10nm AI SoCs involving compute clusters, DMA engines, high bandwidth interfaces, SRAMs, and CPU subsystems.
2. Drive micro-architecture definition, specifications, and RTL design reviews.
3. Provide hands-on technical guidance in RTL design, design partitioning, clock/power domains, resets, and interface specification.
4. Own RTL quality metrics (lint, CDC, RDC, synthesis QoR, timing closure readiness).
5. Build and drive RTL schedules, milestones, and delivery checkpoints.
6. Own RTL sign-off criteria and ensure design readiness for downstream verification, emulation, and physical design.
7. Lead integration of third-party IPs (PCIe, HBM/DDR, NoC, security, compute cores, interconnect fabric).
8. Work with cross functional teams: DV, Arch, PD, compiler and SW/FW teams.
9. Build and manage a high-performing RTL design team; attract, hire, and retain top industry talent

Requirements:
• 12+ years of industry experience in RTL development with experience in leading teams.
• Expert understanding of computer architecture, SoC components, RTL Design, and Sub 10nm designs.
• Hands-on expertise with Verilog based RTL coding and microarchitecture, especially around integrating 3rd party I/Ps such as interfaces, Security, Boot, SRAM, DMA controllers, NOC, and processor I/Ps.
• Solid understanding in timing, pipelining, and microarchitecture.
• Understands the entire production process including DFT, DFM, BIST, and post-silicon debug.
• Experience working in Sub 10nm nodes
• Experience working with a regression system and revision control system.
• Should have solid understanding of industry standard tool and flows for RTL design.

Nice to Have:
• Experience working at startups.
• Experience building SoCs with embedded cores (e.g., ARM, Tensilica, CEVA).
• Experience working with DSP, GPU, FPGA, or network products.
• Experience with synthesis, APR, timing closure, and formal verification.
• Experience designing a new product from the ground up.
• Knows modern programming languages such as Python and Ruby.
• Comfortable working from command line.
