In 2015, we pioneered a “moneyball for biotech” approach, pooling projects and promising early-stage research from academia together under one financial umbrella to reduce risk and unleash innovation. This model allows science and small teams of experts to lead the way. We build bridges to groundbreaking advancements in rare disease, and develop life-changing medicines for patients with unmet needs as fast as humanly possible.

Together we define white space, push boundaries and empower people to solve problems. If you're someone who defies convention, join us and work alongside some of the most respected minds in the industry. Together, we'll ask "why not?" and help reengineer the future of biopharma.

Maverick wanted! We’re seeking a Director of Patient Identification Programs responsible for designing, operationalizing, leading, and scaling enterprise-wide patient identification strategies that enable timely diagnosis, and access to approved therapies. This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, data science, medical affairs, clinical development, and external partnerships, and plays a critical role in accelerating patient journeys towards diagnosis and treatment.

The Director will design, build, and manage a portfolio of innovative patient identification initiatives, leveraging real-world data, diagnostic pathways, digital tools, and healthcare ecosystem partnerships to identify, educate, and connect eligible patients to appropriate genetic testing, clinical programs, or treatments.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as the enterprise subject-matter expert on patient identification, diagnostic pathways, and unmet diagnostic needs.

Lead and mentor cross-functional contributors to patient identification programs.

Program Design & Execution

Leverage real-world data (claims, EHR, genomics, registries) to identify patient populations and optimize identification approaches.

Define success metrics, dashboards, and KPIs to measure program impact and inform continuous improvement.

Translate data insights into actionable recommendations for internal stakeholders.

External Partnerships

Build and manage relationships with diagnostic companies, health systems, laboratories, advocacy groups, digital health vendors, and data partners.

Evaluate and onboard innovative technologies and vendors to enhance patient identification capabilities.

Represent the company externally as a thought leader in patient identification and rare disease diagnosis.

Governance & Compliance

Ensure all programs adhere to applicable regulatory, privacy, and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, promotional regulations).

Partner with Legal and Compliance to design ethical, patient-centric programs that prioritize trust and transparency.

Who You Are:

Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, MPH, MS) or equivalent experience in life sciences, healthcare, or a related field.

8–12+ years of experience in biopharma, healthcare, diagnostics, or health technology, with significant experience in patient identification and related functions.

Proven experience designing, building, and operating complex, cross-functional programs and influencing senior stakeholders.

Strong understanding of diagnostic pathways, rare disease ecosystems, and real-world data sources.

Preferred

Experience in rare disease, precision medicine, or genetically defined conditions.

Familiarity with digital health tools, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled identification approaches.

Experience working with external partners and vendors in a highly regulated environment.

Key Competencies

Strategic thinking and execution excellence
