Director, Strategy & Operations (Chief of Staff to SVP, Marketing & Digital)
About the Role
As Director, Strategy & Operations (Chief of Staff), you will be a strategic partner to the SVP, Marketing & Digital, helping translate enterprise priorities into clear decisions, aligned execution, and measurable business outcomes.
This role sits at the center of Target’s guest experience ecosystem - spanning Marketing and Digital. Target in India Marketing & Digital is an industry leading hub of multi-disciplinary capabilities spanning creative, marketing strategy and activation, media, digital site merchandising, product and marketplace business operations.
You will act as a force multiplier - driving alignment, improving decision quality, and ensuring the organization operates with clarity, focus, and speed.
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategy & Business Impact
• Partner with the SVP to shape and operationalize annual and long-range strategy
• Translate priorities into clear outcomes, metrics, and execution plans
• Frame complex decisions with structured insights, trade-offs, and recommendations
2. Enterprise Alignment & Integration
• Drive alignment across Marketing, Digital, Product, and Operations teams
• Connect strategy to execution across the full guest experience pyramid
• Resolve cross-functional dependencies and remove execution barriers
3. Strategic Initiatives
• Lead or orchestrate high-impact, cross-functional initiatives critical to growth and transformation
• Ensure disciplined execution, progress tracking, and outcome delivery
• Accelerate decision-making on the most critical priorities
4. Operating Model & Governance
• Design and run leadership operating rhythms (QBRs, reviews, offsites)
• Establish clear governance, decision frameworks, and accountability mechanisms
• Provide visibility into performance, risks, and progress
5. Leadership Effectiveness
• Act as a trusted advisor to the SVP and leadership team
• Elevate quality of discussions, decisions, and leadership forums
• Enable onboarding and effectiveness of senior leaders
6. Execution Discipline & Accountability
• Drive clarity on priorities, ownership, and timelines
• Track progress against business goals and proactively course-correct
• Maintain a strong focus on outcomes, not activity

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
