Position Summary

The Director, Vendor Relations and Events, leads the strategy and execution of Byrider’s national vendor ecosystem and key franchise events. This role is responsible for developing high-impact vendor partnerships that deliver measurable economic value to franchisees, while ensuring the successful planning and execution of corporate and franchise events that strengthen engagement and support business objectives.

This position partners closely with senior leadership, Franchise Operations, Finance, and Marketing to align vendor strategy and event execution with Byrider’s growth priorities. The Director will establish performance standards, drive accountability across vendor relationships, and ensure events deliver a high-quality, consistent experience that reinforces the Byrider brand.

Key Responsibilities

Vendor Strategy and Relationship Management

• Develop and lead Byrider’s vendor strategy, while ensuring alignment with franchisee needs and organizational objectives.
• Establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships with key vendors to drive performance, consistency, and long-term partnership value.
• Support senior leadership in vendor negotiations through data-driven insights, performance analysis, and market research.
• Monitor vendor performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive initiatives that enhance service delivery, pricing, and adoption.
• Oversee vendor agreements, renewals, compliance requirements, and contract adherence in partnership with leadership.
• Establish and maintain a centralized repository of vendor pricing, performance metrics, and documented franchisee economic benefits.
• Develop and manage a Strategic Vendor Partner program, including defined criteria, designation process, and annual evaluation.
• Lead a structured Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process with key vendors to assess performance, financial impact, and strategic alignment.
• Partner with Franchise Operations and Finance to quantify and communicate franchisee economic advantage derived from vendor programs.

Event Strategy and Execution

• Lead the planning and execution of corporate and franchise events, including the annual convention, twenty group meetings, training sessions, and industry events.
• Oversee end-to-end event execution, ensuring high-quality delivery across logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site operations.
• Establish event strategies that align with business priorities, enhance franchisee engagement, and promote preferred vendor partnerships.
• Manage event budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure effective planning and fiscal accountability.
• Partner with Marketing and Franchise Operations to design event agendas that support learning, networking, and business outcomes.
• Implement post-event evaluation processes, including survey feedback, performance tracking, and continuous improvement planning.

Strategic Planning and Reporting

• Develop, monitor, and report on key performance indicators related to vendor performance and event success.
• Deliver insights and recommendations to senior leadership on vendor trends, category opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Prepare executive-level reporting that highlights vendor impact, financial outcomes, and event performance.
• Support long-term strategic planning by identifying new vendor categories, partnership opportunities, and ways to leverage Byrider’s scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Event Management, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in vendor management, event leadership, or a related field.
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional initiatives in a multi-location or franchise environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, manage budgets, and provide actionable insights.
• Demonstrated experience supporting or influencing contract negotiations and vendor strategy.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
