Director of User Experience (UX)

Forming part of the leadership team, Betsson Group is now looking for an experienced Director of User Experience who will be based in our HQ in Malta.

The Role

As Director of Player Experience, the purpose of your role is to continuously elevate the user experience and design of our products. In line with this remit, you will lead a team of experts in the field who support the wider product organisation by providing relevant and timely insights to guide product development and drive continuous improvements in product design and user journey optimisation on a global scale. Your organisation will operate as a centre of excellence working with decentralised product design teams that are embedded throughout the organisation.

What you'll do

• Work closely with the CPO in establishing the player experience department and defining/refining the organisation (roles, structure, etc…).

• Lead, mentor and inspire your team, building a team of experts with a culture of high performance, collaboration and innovation.

• Form part of the senior product leadership team, collaborating closely with other product directors and heads towards achieving our vision of having the best customer experience in the industry.

• Ensure that pertinent user journeys are mapped, tracked, and continuously analysed to identify pain points and opportunities for optimisation, with the goal of building a strong understanding of the customer experience throughout the product organisation.

• Ensure that useful, relevant and important insights are continuously generated and effectively shared with the wider product organisation to drive product improvements and support various initiatives.

• Establish high standards, strategies and best practices for product design and drive their adoption throughout the organisation.

• Work closely with the branding and creative teams to support and optimise the implementation of branding and creatives in the product.

• Establish effective forums and/or guilds for the design and UX community in the organisation.

• Provide recommendations and support to foster, grow and retain product design talent across the organisation.

• Serve as a subject matter expert and point of authority for matters related to product design.

• Assist and support the CPO in any matters that may arise from time to time.

Who you are

• Significant working experience in product design, user research, and/or user experience with online casino and sports betting products.

• Strong leadership experience, with demonstrated ability to build, motivate and coach high performing teams.

• Hands on experience with information architecture, storyboards, prototyping, user journey mapping, and empathy mapping.

• Experience contributing to a design system or pattern design library

• Deep understanding of design and usability best practices.

• Deep understanding of user research techniques, tools, and best practices.

• Strong understanding of how to use metrics and data in product design.

• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills (English).

• Comfortable working with agile development teams.

A plus if you have

• Experience working with product analytics tools.

• Experience designing for native apps (iOS and Android).

• Experience designing back-office services and frameworks.

• Knowledgeable on both casino and sports betting products.

• Experience working with remote / geographically distributed teams.

For this role you will based in our Headquarters in Malta.
