About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Technology to lead our APAC technology strategy, focusing on Malaysia and Hong Kong. This role requires deep expertise in modern web architectures, cloud platforms, digital innovation, and strong people management experience. You will play a crucial role in leading technology teams, engaging in sales pitches, and driving the adoption of innovative solutions that enhance business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Leadership

• Define and implement the APAC technology strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives

• Lead the adoption of modern content management, microservices, and AI-driven innovations

• Drive cloud-native capabilities across multiple platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, Huawei Cloud, Alibaba Cloud) with emphasis on Engineering, Data and AI

• Proactively identify business growth opportunities through technical innovation and thought leadership

• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies to drive competitive advantage

People & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and mentor technology teams across Malaysia and Hong Kong, fostering a high-performance culture

• Build and scale teams, ensuring effective talent management and development

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, product, and delivery) to align technology solutions with business goals

• Communicate progress, risks, and opportunities proactively to stakeholders across the organization

• Maintain visibility and create confidence through clear, consistent leadership

Solution Architecture & Development

• Oversee the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance digital platforms

• Drive cloud-native and modern architecture strategies using platforms like AEP with AEM, commercetools, and Headless CMS like Builder.io, Sanity, or Contentful

• Ensure best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure management

• Deliver executive-level technical documentation and architecture

Sales & Business Engagement

• Lead technical conversations in client meetings with executive presence and confidence

• Drive business development by identifying opportunities and creating compelling technical demonstrations

• Develop polished, client-ready proposals and innovative solutions that address client needs

• Collaborate with strategic partners to respond to RFPs, including partner selection, scoping, costing, and platform design

• Partner with business teams on client engagement, pre-sales strategies, and digital transformation initiatives

• Demonstrate rapid responsiveness to opportunities and own technical narratives in high-stakes situations

Innovation & Emerging Technologies

• Drive AI-driven innovations and automation across technology solutions

• Identify and implement cutting-edge cloud, marketing automation, CMS, and e-commerce solutions

• Lead research into new technology trends and their business impact

Key Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in technology leadership, with a strong background in digital transformation. Previous working experience in recognized agencies or consultancy is a plus

• Proven people management experience in APAC (Malaysia & Hong Kong), with a track record of team building and leadership

• Cantonese fluency is a must

• Expertise in MACH architecture, microservices, and cloud-agnostic technologies

• Strong background in Adobe AEM and modern enterprise content management platforms like Builder.io, Sanity and Contentful

• Expertise across multiple cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, GCP, with ability to work in diverse cloud environments

• Demonstrated ability to lead client-facing engagements with executive presence

• Hands-on experience in sales pitches, technical pre-sales, and delivering polished proposals

• Solid understanding of AI-driven solutions and innovative digital strategies

• Ability to work closely with business teams to develop technology roadmaps and drive execution

• Proven track record of rapid responsiveness and follow-through on commitments

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP

• Certifications in modern content management systems

• Strong knowledge of APAC market dynamics and digital trends

• Experience in Agile methodologies, DevOps, and software architecture best practices

• Familiarity with Drupal (nice to have)
