As the Director of Strategy, you will be a strategic leader at AdFarm, reporting up under the Global Client Service Director, you will be responsible for driving insight-led, forward-thinking marketing strategy rooted in the realities of modern agriculture. This role blends deep sector knowledge with a sophisticated planning mindset, helping brands connect authentically with rural, farm, and ag professional audiences. As a key partner to clients, internal teams, and the AgIntel team, the Strategist ensures strategy is not only smart but grounded, relevant, and effective, you’ll love coming to work every day if you Get, Want, and have the Capacity to be accountable to the following:

Serve as the lead strategist on major accounts, guiding clients through the strategic planning process from brand positioning to campaign evaluation.

Shape long-term marketing communication strategies that reflect the evolving needs of agricultural producers, advisors, retailers, and the value chain.

Guide clients and internal teams through the full strategic process from discovery and opportunity framing to insight development and strategy creation ensuring alignment, clarity, and momentum at every stage.

Collaborate with creative, PR, digital, and media teams to ensure briefs, messaging, and channel strategies are insight-driven, cohesive, and aligned with overarching business and communication goals.

Facilitate internal workshops, planning sessions, and cross-team collaborations that build strategic capacity across the agency.

Play a central role in key agency efforts including major pitches, agency marketing initiatives, and industry events.

Establish a rigorous measurement framework that aligns KPIs with overarching business objectives, ensuring every strategic pivot is backed by empirical evidence and performance trends.

Lead with and mentor junior strategists or Account Managers taking responsibility for identifying their potential, building their confidence, and developing their strategic expertise. 

Lead initiatives that address strategic knowledge gaps across the agency fostering a culture of insight, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Collaborate with creative, PR, media, and digital leads to promote AdFarm’s work through awards, case studies, and external communications.

Work closely with AdFarm’s AgIntel team to identify research needs and activate findings across client work.

Translate insights from AgIntel’s proprietary tools including the Farm Voice Panel and other agriculture, market, and audience data sources into clear, actionable strategies that inform client planning and creative development.

Guide the integration of primary and secondary research into briefs, strategies, and campaign performance reviews.

Help evolve the agency’s research capabilities and engage AgIntel to support planning, innovation, and thought leadership.

 

 

We train our team to help them succeed, and everyone on our team helps with our success. In this role, you’ll need to come to the table with the following skills and qualifications:

 

10+yrs experience in B2B marketing, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership or senior strategic role

Proven experience owning or significantly influencing a pipeline target

Agency experience is a MUST

Mastery of "Smarketing" (Sales + Marketing alignment). Knows how to orchestrate high-touch campaigns for a small set of high-value accounts.

The ability to launch new products or enter new territories by defining the Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and competitive positioning.

Knowledge of how to integrate Generative AI and Predictive Analytics into the marketing workflow to gain a competitive edge in efficiency and personalization.

Knowledge of how CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot), Marketing Automation (Marketo/Pardot), and Intent Data work together.

The ability to move beyond "better, faster, cheaper" and instead frame the company as the leader of a unique category or solution.

Must have Cross-Functional Influence
