Compensation & Incentives
• Salary Range: $110,000 – $170,000 annually
• Incentive Bonus: Up to 17.5%
• Sign-On Bonus: Case-by-case

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Sterile Processing to provide strategic and operational leadership for a high-volume, acute care sterile processing department in Asheville, North Carolina. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and exceptional service delivery across multiple surgical and procedural service lines. The Director will lead a large, multidisciplinary team and partner closely with perioperative leadership to support safe, reliable, and timely patient care.
Responsibilities
• Provide executive-level leadership and oversight for all sterile processing operations
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention standards, accreditation requirements, and regulatory guidelines
• Lead, mentor, and develop department leadership, including team leads and frontline staff
• Drive performance improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost containment
• Oversee staffing models, recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing competency validation
• Collaborate with perioperative and clinical leaders to align sterile processing services with surgical volume and case mix
• Manage departmental budgets, capital planning, and resource allocation
• Support continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making and operational metrics
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Nursing, or completion of a two-year Surgical Technology program
• Current CRCST or CSPDT certification
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Sterile Processing
• Acute care hospital experience
• Demonstrated experience leading large teams within large, complex facilities
• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, aseptic technique, and infection control standards
Preferred
• Experience overseeing departments supporting multiple service lines (e.g., OR, CVOR, Endoscopy, L&D)
• Proven success managing teams of 50+ FTEs
• Experience with sterile processing workflow and tracking systems
